New ASDA smart store in Bearsden, Glasgow
Observations
A wide array of mechanical and electrical details were needed to penetrate the roof; a large amount of roof mounted plant was also required. Due to the low pitch of the roof, site welded penetrations in various forms were needed, from weathering details for SHS steel plant supports, to large structural units to support smoke ventilators.
The Welded Solutions
Accurate resource planning was key to meeting the requirements of this project. During site works the penetrations doubled in quantity and value. With careful management and flexible resource capabilities, Sureweld was able to increase on site presence to ensure the programme was completed on time.
Roof Specification
Kalzip 500 module in 0.9 Non Clad stucco Embossed Aluminium on ST 190 clips with 168mm of compressed glass fibre insulation sitting on 30mm 0.7mm steel liner tray in white finish.
