Project
The Hicking Building is a Grade 2 listed former textile factory located in the centre of Nottingham. The building has been completely renovated to provide a development of luxury residential apartments.
Problems
Due to the complexity of roof intersections on this project, together with the shallow roof slop of 7 degrees, Coverite Limited wanted to avoid cumbersome flashings and closures by using a fully welded solution to the many hip and valley details.
The Welded Solutions
Sureweld provided 200 linear metres of fully welded hip and valley details, together with 350 metres of welding to roof dormers, gutters and roof penetrations. The total amount of site welding on this project was over 1 kilometre.
Roof Specification
Kalzip 500 module in 0.9 Non Clad stucco Embossed Aluminium on ST 190 clips with 170mm of compressed glass fibre insulation sitting on 30mm 0.7mm steel liner tray.
