Project
A new building was required to house a state-of-the-art Learning Resource Centre. The centre holds IT Labs and a 400-seat lecture theatre; scheduled for completion in 2006.
Observations
To suit the intricate nature of this project program it was necessary to fragment the various welded details required. A number of additional openings were also unexpectedly required at a late stage of the project. The openings were designed, manufactured and installed within days, negating any delay for following works.
The Welded Solutions
Sureweld & Roof Ltd was selected to provide off-site manufactured and welded openings. The openings were required for a variety of purposes, ranging from roof access to protrusions for ventilation. A number of welded Kalzip sheet laps were also required.
Roof Specification
Kalzip 400 module in 0.9 stucco Embossed Aluminium, double layer insulation on vapour control membrane, with ST clips sitting on thermal barrier pads fixed to 120ST profiled deck, spanning primary structural beams deck 70 or 45.
