Health & Safety

Our Attitude

Our commitment to Best Industry Practice extends to all aspects of the way we work. We take the issue of health and safety very seriously both on and off site, promoting a 24/7safety culture. Our in house Safety Management System is supported by our comprehensive Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Policy, which clearly states our commitment to safety. Our safety policy is reviewed annually and all changes are communicated to our teams.

Our operatives are fully coded experienced site welders, who are certified and trained in all key competencies necessary to carry out their work, without putting either themselves or other workers at risk. In addition, all our site operatives are registered and fully committed to the CSCS scheme.

SAFE Contractor approved

SAFE Contractor is an industry accreditation scheme that assesses the health and safety competency of contractors and service providers. The new CDM Regulations require proven competence of appointed CDM duty holders, so companies approved by the scheme improve their chances of progressing through any tender process.

In turn, SAFE Contractor approval gives the Duty Holders confidence they have appointed the appropriate contractor, assisting clients, CDM C and Principal Contractors in their tender and procurement processes.

Sureweld, the UKs leading Roofing and Cladding Welding specialist, has been awarded the SAFE Contractor health and safety seal of approval and is proud to be associated with the accreditation scheme.

National Federation of Roofing Contractors
National Federation of Roofing Contractors

The NFRC is the UK's leading trade association for the roofing industry. The NFRC supports the promotion and marketing of members to major clients, major contractors and the domestic market to collectively achieve quality installations.

This is done through a comprehensive Technical Advisory Service open to members and their clients, a series of business services for members and support in training and recruitment from the Construction Industry Training Board.

As insurance companies usually insist on a lengthy audit process before issuing an insurance policy, insuring a team working at height can be a time consuming and costly procedure. Insurance companies do however, acknowledge and recognise the benefits of NFRC membership and not only fast track insurance schedules to NFRC members, but apply a discount to insurance policies.

Sureweld are proud to be a trade member of the NFRC.

Combined liability Insurance

Sureweld insist in the best levels of public employers and product liability insurance available; we have a bespoke document worded to suit our particular requirement. Details of our cover are available along with a statement from our insurers regarding its validity.
